Icon Modern continues to grow its outside sales network by establishing a partnership with Chicago-based AK Design
CHICAGO, IL, August 30th, 2022 – Icon Modern, a custom fabricator of contract furniture and architectural elements announced a partnership with local furniture rep group AK Design to accelerate its growth in Illinois and Wisconsin.
Rocky Levy, co-founder of Icon Modern commented on the partnership: “Our roots in Chicago have given us the fortunate opportunity to develop strong relationships within the design community here. Our extensive capabilities in custom fabrication helped establish Icon Modern as a trusted creative partner for the city’s leading firms.”

AK Design was founded on the premise of thoughtful curation. Through a boutique collection of creative and high-quality furniture brands, they aim to be the go-to resource for designers that are looking for truly creative design solutions for their projects.
“Both Kristin and I have extensive design backgrounds so when we look at furniture brands, we ask ourselves ‘Would we want to spec that?’ and ‘Are we excited to bring this into design firms?’”, explained Angela Riordan, who co-founded AK Design with Kristin Peschke.
Kristin added, “We have always loved Icon Modern’s custom solutions. We’ve admired their work from afar and always felt like their work was the most exciting part of projects. So when the opportunity presented itself to discuss a partnership, we jumped at the chance.”
